Dr. Janet Lyons

Dr. Janet Lyons is a general Obstetrician Gynecologist practicing at BC Women’s Hospital, UBC Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital. She is a graduate of Dalhousie Medical School with a Fellowship in Family Practice followed a few years later by a Fellowship in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of British Columbia. She has a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Her early career was spent as a Family Medicine physician in Nova Scotia where she had a full-service practice including both maternity and emergency medicine care. She was the Dalhousie University Medical Regional Continuing Education Coordinator for family practice, where she facilitated provincial education for both maternity and emergency family practice providers.

Dr. Lyons is the Senior Medical Director of the Maternal Newborn Program at BC Women’s Hospital which delivers close to 7000 high and low risk patients per year. Her Ob Gyn practice includes both high and low risk maternity care patient care as well as surgical gynecology patient care. She participates in the education of medical students and residents at the University of British Columbia.
